European Blackjack Gold is a single-hand game that is played with 2 regular decks of cards. You place your bets by choosing your chip value then click the Deal button. The dealer deals you 2 cards face-up while he deals himself just a single card, also face-up. Based on your 2-card hand you may want to hit, stand, or double. The Insurance bet option becomes available if the dealer's card is an ace. Once your hand is complete the dealer's second card is dealt. The hand that is stronger and closer to 21 is the winner.
The basic rules of European Blackjack Gold are simple and easy to follow. The dealer must stand on all 17s and no peeking is allowed. You are allowed to split once to form 2 individual hands; however an Ace and a 10-value card now does not count as blackjack. Also splitting of unlike 10-value cards is not allowed in this blackjack variant.
