The charity organization, GamCare, who supports and councils people with gambling problems in the UK, has announced that they have formed an organization, GamCare Trade Services (GTS) that is set up to assist gambling operators with the introduction of the UK Gambling Act commencing this September.
GTS is a training facility that will aide the operators in fulfilling the social responsibility requirements of the Act. The Act requires that online and land based casino operators take measures to create a socially responsible environment, to keep crime out, to make sure gambling is fair and open, and to protect children and vulnerable people (addicts) from harm.
GamCare managaing director, Andrew Poole will run the program. GamCare will also use the expertise of Absolutely Training, a software consultancy company, with whom they have partnered with for this venture.
"This new e-learning solution will enable us to ensure that all staff, across all locations, onshore and offshore, can benefit from GamCare’s high standards of training." Stated Kate Stewart, a manager from Betfair, who have already found success from Absolutely Training in the past.
The courses from GTS will focus on providing training services for staff in dealing with issues of problem gambling activities (addictions, underage, etc.).
