In a press release from its headquarters in Dublin, Ireland, Cryptologic announced that it had entered into a strategic partnership with Orbis Technology for delivery of its popular online games to the leading customers of Orbis Technology. Cryptologic is a pioneer in online gaming software and is currently one of the market leaders. Orbis Technology provides interactive gaming and betting solutions like the Fixed Odds Games platform.

According to the agreement reached, SkyBet will be the first Orbis Technology customer to benefit from Cryptologic’s games. This is expected to happen as early as the first quarter of 2009. SkyBet is on Orbis’ Fixed Odds Games platform. The other operators who are later expected to host Cryptologic games are Betfair, Paddy Power and Blue Square.

In 2008 Cryptologic has taken a considered decision to tie up with strong distribution channels for its suite of exclusive games. This tie-up with Orbis Technology is a furtherance of that strategy. Brian Hadfield, the President and the Chief Executive Officer of Cryptologic, elucidated on the reason for this. He said that the global Internet gaming market is growing so rapidly that it makes sense for accessing new markets through existing channels of the world’s leading operators. He added, “Cryptologic’s new partnership with Orbis Technology enhances both our position and our optimism as we revitalize our business for growth in 2009 and beyond.”

The reason that Cryptologic has chosen Orbis Technology as a partner is apparent.  Orbis Technology’s platform has a unique ‘one account, one wallet’ system that gives it considerable reach. This feature allows the players signed up with Orbis’ customers to wager in multiple languages and currencies and across multiple products and platforms with a single account. Hence players do not have to open different accounts for accessing casino games through the Internet, mobile devices, retail outlets, call centers and interactive digital television. The tie-up with Cryptologic also meets Orbis Technology’s strategic objective of offering its customers the best games and the most sophisticated solutions. David Loveday, the Chief Executive Officer of Orbis Technology is equally pleased with the tie-up. He said that the coming together of the two companies would result in the most attractive package of games on offer to remote casino players.

Cryptologic has adopted the partnership route on the input side as well. It has tied up with Marvel Comics to produce branded slots based on the comic’s superheroes. In this venture it is collaborating with NextGen, which is one of the leading developers of online slots games. Cryptologic is undoubtedly on the right track. This can be gauged by the fact that it has won Gambling Online Magazine’s Top Casino Software award for the last three years.
