The 9th International Gaming Awards took place this year on Monday 1st February at The Savoy Hotel London and both Microgaming and NetEnt walked away with awards. Microgaming scooped the ‘Innovator of the Year’ award and NetEnt won the ‘Slot Provider/Supplier Product of the Year’ award.

“What a fantastic start to ICE! And what a tremendous accolade for our Research and Development team. They are constantly thinking ahead and pushing the boundaries, and deserve praise for consistently producing pioneering solutions that are effectively shaping the future of online gaming,” said the Microgaming CEO, Roger Raatgever. He then finished by saying, “This award, the second of its kind in recent months, further cements our status as the creative force in our industry. It really is a fantastic achievement – well done to all involved!”

Microgaming received this coveted award for its VR Roulette which has been developed for use with the Oculus Rift DK 2 headset and Leap Motion 3D Controller. Some of you may also remember when Microgaming picked up the ‘Digital Gaming Innovation of the Year’ award for this same technology back in September at the Global Gaming Awards 2015.

Microgaming is also in the headlines right now after receiving an official Guinness World Records® certificate for Jonathon Heywood’s record-breaking €17,879,645.12 win from a £0.25p spin which occurred back in October 2015. On February 2nd at this year’s ICE Totally Gaming event, Betway Casino and the UK player both received their official certificates from a Guinness World Records adjudicator.

“It was fantastic to welcome Jon to our stand at ICE for the official Guinness World Records certificate handover. Having spent some time with him today, I can honestly say it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy. We’re proud to share the world record and look forward to creating our next jackpot millionaire,” added the CEO. All of these comments came directly from Microgaming’s official press desk.

Microgaming also recently announced that it has signed a new licensing agreement with Universal Brand Development to produce a new online slot machine called Jurassic World. This new branded slot will hopefully be available in UK online casinos such as bgo Vegas, Mr Green Casino, Betway Casino, 32Red Casino and Roxy Palace Casino at some point later on this year.

In the meantime you may want to check out two other brand new Microgaming slots which arrived in casinos yesterday, February 3rd, 2016. Two of the latest desktop slots included Bikini Party and Dragon Dance (both have 5 reels and 243 win ways), plus a brand new mobile slot called Lucky Zodiac is also now available.
